Two New Coronavirus Cases Detected
JEDDAH — Two new patients have tested positive for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) with a third reportedly having recovered.
The Ministry of Health reported the two new cases on Friday. The first patient is a non-Saudi man from Riyadh, aged 43. The second is a Saudi man from Wadi Al-Dawasir, aged 52. Both patients have undergone treatment and are in stable health condition.
The patient who recovered from coronavirus infection is also a Saudi man. The 65-year-old is from Riyadh.
A total of 1,423 patients have contracted the virus in the Kingdom since it was detected in 2012. Of them, 32 showed no symptoms of the disease, 838 have recovered, 613 died while five patients are still undergoing treatment.
The ministry has urged the general public to take the necessary precautions against the virus.
