Remains of OFW Who Committed Suicide in Macau Reaches Home

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO: Remains of 30-year-old Marvin Bautista, who allegedly jumped to his death from a bridge, arrived from Macau.

The Pampanga Action Center for OFW Concerns (PACOC) of the provincial government announced the arrival of Bautista’s body, Sun Star reported.

Bautista’s body was found after almost two days near his work place at Oceanus Casino, the report said.

The victim’s relatives sought the intervention of Governor Lilia Pineda for the repatriation of the remains. Upon instruction of Governor Lilia Pineda and Provincial Administrator Andres Pangilinan, Jr., PACOC coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for the return of the remains of Bautista, a native of Sta. Monica in San Simon town, it added.

PACOC reportedly assisted the kin of Bautista in coordinating with the Philippine Consular Office, Philippine Overseas Laborers Office (POLO) and to the Overseas Welfare Workers’ Association (OWWA) to facilitate the return of the remains in the Philippines.

A delegation from the Capitol went to Macau to process the repatriation. The PACOC said that the provincial government is ready to assist the Bautista family as they face trying times, Sun Star reported.
