Pinoy Chef Wins People’s Choice Award in US Contest

CALIFORNIA – World renowned Filipino chef Claude Tayag recently won the People’s Choice Award at the annual Embassy Chef Challenge in Washington DC.
Chef Tayag’s winning entry “Bringhe” is made from three heirloom Cordillera rice varieties, inasal na bangus, ‘taba ng talangka,’ dried mango, and glazed pili nuts, with patis and calamansi extract.
Barbados Chef Creig Greenidge won the Judge’s Choice Award.
Tayag, together with 17 chefs chosen by their respective embassies, duked it out at the Embassy Chef Challenge held at the Ronald Reagan building and International Trade Center last May 25.
Tayag paired the winning ‘Bringhe’ with a special cocktail by Maharlika NYC mixologist, Enzo Lim.
