Mactan Airport Sets Runway Closure Schedule for Repairs

MANILA – The Mactan-Cebu International Airport runway will be closed during the wee hours in the first 3 weeks of September to make way for repairs, authorities said Wednesday.

The runway will be closed from Sept. 1 to 21, from 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for overlay and repair works, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) said in a statement.

“Passengers with domestic or international flights scheduled during those dates and around those times are advised to check with their airlines for any possible adjustments to or cancellation of their flights,” the agency said.

Passengers are also advised to arrive at the airport and check in earlier in anticipation of traffic congestion, MCIAA said.

Check-in counters for international flights will be open 5 hours before departure, it said.
