Jordanian, Qatari among 5 Executed for Murder and Drug Trafficking

RIYADH – A Jordanian and a Qatari national were among five people executed in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after they were separately found guilty of murder and drug smuggling, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Quoting the Ministry of Interior, it said the Qatari, Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al-Jarboui, was executed in Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province after being convicted of shooting Muhammad Bin Salem Al-Jarboui Al-Mari, a Saudi citizen, to death following a dispute.

Qassadi Bin Ibrahim Atoudi, a citizen, was put to death in Jazan. He was found guilty of carrying out premeditated murder of Muhammad Bin Hussein Atoudi, a Saudi citizen, together with another person who died later.

The ministry also executed three people after conviction of drug trafficking. Suleiman Bin Mubarak Al-Masoudi and Ahmad Bin Suaifan Al-Masoudi were arrested while smuggling huge quantity of amphetamine. Their executions were carried out in Tabuk.

The Jordanian, Abdallah Tayaha, convicted of amphetamine trafficking, was executed in the northern Al-Jouf region, the ministry statement said.
