RIYADH: Latest government figures reveal that more than 1,055 doctors, pharmacists and specialists at Ministry of Health hospitals and clinics have resigned their positions. Fifty-four percent of them applied for early retirement, as of the end of the last year.
Doctors account for 10 percent of the resignations, with about 105 doctors resigning from government hospitals.
Among public sector health employees, 109 were dismissed, including 81 technicians, 12 specialists, seven assistants, and nine doctors, while 376 employees left their posts voluntarily due to reaching the statutory retirement age in the public health sector.
In health centers and hospitals across 11 health fields, 2,302 health care workers were employed, including 606 doctors, as well as pharmacists, specialists and technicians.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Service also announced that 103 female applicants, who applied for health care jobs on the ministry’s website, were asked to visit the nearest ministry branch or office to complete application procedures and submit original documents and certifications.
The ministry confirmed, however, that the request to complete application procedures does not guarantee nomination or employment, but rather to confirm the validity of documents. Requested documents include the national ID, the family book, and two copies of graduation degrees and certifications that clarify the cumulative grade point average and overall percentage grade, as well as the date of graduation. Applicants must visit the offices within the designated period or will be considered as having no longer interest in employment.
The ministry’s launch of the portal for applications allows for facilitated processes and procedures, as well as enhanced customer service in order to speed up application and employment processes for government agencies.
As of Dul Qadaah 4, the ministry will hold specialized workshops by experts to explain all application processes and training, and scholarship options available through the portal, as well as allow government agency representatives to select appropriate times to host these workshops.
The new application portal replaces any hand-delivered or paper applications, and offers around-the-clock assistance for all provided services.
