Hundreds Evacuated as Fire Hits Another Dubai Building
DUBAI: Hundreds of employees and residents in Business Bay area rushed to safe grounds as fire hit this morning the 26th floor of a high-rise building along Sheikh Zayed Road.
On November 23, three residential buildings in Muraqqabat were torched leaving hundreds of residents, mostly Filipinos, homeless.
The victims lost all their belongings, including valuable documents such as passports and visas, prompting the Philippine Consulate General to come up with an emergency assistance and relief efforts for them.
The latest fire incident damaged the 26th floor of Regal Tower which houses mostly offices, a range of retail outlets, a cafeteria and a gymnasium.
Dubai Civil Defense officials contained the fire within an hour after it occurred around 9:45 am today.
