Yemen’s President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Saturday denounced Houthi terrorists as “puppets of Iran,” demanding airstrikes against their positions continue until they surrender.

“I say to the puppets of Iran, its toys and those who support it, you have destroyed Yemen with your political adolescence and by manufacturing domestic and regional crises,” Hadi told the Arab Summit.

The president urged Yemen’s army to protect state institutions and obey the orders of Yemen’s legitimate leadership.

Hadi, who flew back to the Kingdom on Saturday from Egypt, will not return to his country “for now,” his Foreign Minister Riyad Yaseen told.

“Not for now, when the situation settles first,” he said when asked if Hadi would return to Aden.

The minister also hinted that Arab ground forces may be needed in the next phase of the operation against Houthis.

Asked whether ground troops would be required, he said: “This is possible. Very possible.”

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi earlier called for the creation of a joint Arab military force.

He said Arab countries are facing an unprecedented threat to their stability and identity.

A Gulf diplomatic official, meanwhile, said that the airstrikes campaign was planned to last for one month, but that coalition nations were prepared for the probability of going on for up to six months.

“Ultimately the whole idea is to achieve the political objective,” said the diplomat.
