Hong Kong University CPR Workshop for Foreign Domestic Workers
A training workshop on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) for domestic workers was held at the HKU Centennial Campus last May 29, 2016. The integrated crash course on CPR and AED was conducted by the HKU medical students under the advisory of The Emergency Medicine Unit of HKU’s Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine.
The following activities outlines the morning and afternoon session of the workshop:
– Talk on Hands-Only CPR, recovery position, and AED operation
– Hands-on session on Hands-Only CPR, recovery position, and AED operation
– Pre- and Post- workshop evaluations and quizzes
The training is the second batch of trainees under the Domestic Workers Empowerment Project (DWEP) program spearheaded by Dr. Mike Manio under the New College HKU. A similar training workshop but only on CPR was held last year as part of the series of seminars and workshops attended by 98 OFWs who eventually graduated with certificates of attendance from the University.
