Filipinos Join Hands to Help Dubai Fire Victims
DUBAI: The Filipino community in the UAE has come to the aid of its compatriots affected by the fire that ravaged the Al Shamsi Building in Muraqqabat, Dubai, on Monday.
The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates had requested all Filipino citizens affected by the November 23 fire at Blocks A, B and C of the Al Shamsi Building in Muraqqabat to go to Barrio Fiesta Restaurant on Tuesday from 3pm to 10pm to register to determine the type of help they need.

“Donations will also be accepted at POLO office. Urgent items include bottled water, toiletries, sleeping materials, canned goods and other non perishable items,” said Vice Consul Ryan Pondoc.
The Filipino Times, on its part, has launched TFT Reach: “Help Muraqqabat” drive to help the fire victims.
“Hundreds of Filipinos have been displaced by the fire that engulfed three residential buildings on Salah Al Din in Muraqqabat. We are talking about hundreds who have lost most, if not all, of their belongings, including clothes and cash,” the newspaper said on its Facebook page.

Fiesta Pinoy, meanwhile, has organized ‘Dine and Donate’ where you will get a buffet for Dh20 from 5pm till midnight. Dh10 will go to the fire victims.
