A Filipino American could become the first Asian American Solicitor General of the United States.

George T. Conway, the Fil-Am husband of one of Donald Trump’s senior advisers, Kellyanne Conway, is reportedly being considered for the US government’s next top appellate lawyer.

Sources familiar with the process revealed this to the media recently.

The New York-based George Conway is a partner at the corporate law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz where he has worked for close to 30 years.

He has represented prominent clients, including the National Football League and the tobacco giant Philip Morris. He was also part of the team that represented Paula Jones in her sexual harassment lawsuit against then-President Bill Clinton in the 1990s.

Conway graduated from Yale Law School in 1987 after attending Harvard College.

Conway married Kellyanne in 2001 and they have four children.

For now, he has refused to comment, but a source says he would accept the position should President-Elect Trump give him the opportunity.

The Solicitor General reports to the Attorney General. The post is subject to Senate confirmation.
