Fil-Am Entertainment Host Launches Docu-Series About LA

A Filipino-American entertainment host for digital broadcast network AfterBuzz TV launched an eight-part docu-series on YouTube showing what it really looks like to live, work, and play in Los Angeles.
“Your Time With Thomas” follows AfterBuzz correspondent Thomas Orlina as he hits the hottest spots of LA and shows his followers an intimate side to his work in the entertainment capital of the US.
“I wanted to show you (the viewers) who I am, and want you to be able to connect with me on a higher level,” Orlina said on the pilot episode.
The bite-sized series allows Orlina’s 50,000 social media followers to know more about the LA native, who hopes to use the series to give Filipino-Americans more exposure in Hollywood.
“I truly believe there is a market for my show with over 3.4 million Filipino Americans that have been underrepresented in American pop culture media,” Orlina said in an email to GMA News Online.
“This would be an opportunity to really bring up and highlight that community that has not been reached.”
Aside from giving viewers a first-hand experience of living in LA, the series also tackles topics close to the self-confessed social media influencer’s heart, ranging from pop culture to fashion, relationships to sexuality, overcoming fears and making the most out of life.
Prior to the series and his work with AfterBuzz and Warner Bros., Orlina worked with celebrity news website TMZ and The Ellen DeGeneres Show producer Telepictures Production. —KBK, GMA News
