Family of OFW Killed in Iraq Fire Says Gov’t Yet to Offer Assistance
The family of Ihris Glomar, one of the 13 OFWs killed in a hotel fire in Iraq on February 5, is appealing for government help especially regarding her three children who are all minors.
A report by Isay Reyes on Unang Balita on Monday said the government has yet to coordinate with Glomar’s family regarding possible assistance that might be extended to them.
“Hinahanap lang po namin kung nasaan ‘yung pag-aaruga nila at kung paano ‘tong mga naiwan na ito,” said Dante Casuparan, Glomar’s father, in the report.
Glomar left behind three children aged 5, 11 and 14 years old.
The bodies of the 13 victims were repatriated on Saturday. They died of suffocation when fire hit the Capitol Hotel in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan autonomous region in Iraq.
