A 62-year-old Singaporean man was acquitted of an indecent assault charge filed against him by his female domestic helper from the Philippines.

A Magistrates’ Court judge ruled that the defendant, Ong Choon Kwee, was not guilty of the charge, citing discrepancies in the testimony of the 23-year-old maid, hk01.com reports.

Ong was alleged to have indecently assaulted his helper on two occasions at his home at Ville De Jardin in Fo Tan on April 30 and May 9, 2016.

The helper reported to the police last June.

But in her court testimony, she said she was assaulted only once.

She also said she had reported the incidents to her employment agent. But the agent testified in court that she had made no such complaints, Apple Daily reported.

The helper told the court that Ong ordered her to massage his shoulders and legs.

She said as she was doing so, Ong stood up, lowered his trousers, then grabbed the helper’s hand and tried to place it on his private parts.

When the helper refused, Ong offered her HK$80, but still she refused, the court heard.

The judge said it was inappropriate for Ong to make body contacts with the maid.

On another occasion, Ong offered to teach the helper how to use an airsoft rifle to drive monkeys away from the garden.

But as he was teaching her how to do so, he allegedly touched her breasts.
