HONG KONG 10 December 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Cebu City organized a two-day free group and one-on-one public legal consultation on 10 to 11 November 2018 at the Chancery Conference Room and Philippine Overseas Labor Office public area.
A delegation of 15 lawyers, led by IBP-Cebu City President Atty. Jose Glenn Capanas, also participated in a public service series “Idulog Mo Kay Atorni” (Consult Your Attorney). The series has run for four years in partnership with the IBP.
Over 125 members of the Filipino community were served by IBP delegation during the two-day consultations. An informal survey based on the nature of the actual cases reveal that most of the problems of the Filipinos who sought advice and assistance revolved around marriage, custody and support, property, and loan issues.
The project was held under the auspices of the Consulate’s Gender and Development (GAD) program, and spearheaded by the Assistance-to-Nationals and Civil Registry and Legal Sections. END
