DOLE Announces Contract Visa Opportunity for PHL Medical Workers in Oman
Filipino medical workers seeking employment abroad may want to consider Oman as an option, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office said over the weekend.
The POLO in Oman said medical workers hired by private clinics and hospitals may benefit from a three-month contract visa for taking a pro-metric examination and interview.
Labor Attaché Nasser Mustafa said applicants must be registered medical workers below age 45, with at least two years work experience.
Prospective benefits include:
– free accommodation
– free transportation
– return ticket to the medical worker’s hometown.
Dr. Sami Khasawneh, Group Medical Director of Euro-Arabian Specialist Dental Center, said Oman’s
Ministry of Health and Immigration and Labor Office claimed all health-related professionals are required to pass the MOH examination before being issued a working resident permit.
They will then be issued contract visas valid for two months, which will let them take the written and oral examinations.
“In case they fail, their visa can be extended for a month,” the Department of Labor and Employment said.
Meanwhile, Mustafa recommended that applicants have an employment contract for three months so they can have allowances or salaries.
For her part, DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz warned Filipino medical workers not to be duped by illegal recruiters.
She urged them to only deal with legitimate and POEA-licensed agencies.
