ALERT: Ebola Update
The World Health Organization (WHO) has placed the death toll in the Ebola outbreak in West Africa to more than 1,000. The U.N. health agency confirmed in a news bulletin that 1,013 have died in the outbreak since it was first recognized in March. There are 1,848 suspected, likely or affirmed cases of the disease. From August 7 – 9, 52 more people died and 69 more were infected. Ebola is highly lethal and there is no licensed vaccine or treatment for the disease.
