More Fil-Ams Leaning Towards Hillary: Survey
MANILA – More Filipino-Americans are like to vote for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the coming U.S. presidential elections.
According to the Fall 2016 National Asian American Survey, 63% of Filipinos in the United States has a favorable opinion of Clinton. Meanwhile, on 13% of Filipinos has a favorable opinion of GOP candidate Donald Trump.
Among Filipino-Americans, 45% said they will vote for Clinton, while 30% said they will vote for Trump.
Including “leaners,” the percentage of Filipino-Americans who will vote for Clinton widened to 57%, while those voting for Trump narrowed by a bit to 27%.
Generally, Asian-Americans are leaning towards voting for Clinton, based on survey results.
About 55% of registered Asian-American voters intended to vote for Clinton while 14% of Asian-Americans intended to vote for Trump.
The Fall 2016 National Asian American Survey was taken between August 10 and September 29 and was conducted in 11 different languages.
