One of the main reasons why the penetration rate of credit cards is low in the Philippines is that many Filipinos entertain the notion that buying on credit is automatically bad for you.

According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) B2C E-commerce Index 2016 only 3 percent of adult consumers have a credit card.
