September 12 Declared National Holiday

In observance of the Muslim holiday, Eid’l Adha, proclamation no. 56 declares September 12, Monday, a regular holiday.

According to the proclamation, Eidl Adha, otherwise knwon as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two greatest feast of Islam. The other holiday being Eid’l Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast.

September 12 was declared according to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos’ recommendation. President Rodrigo Duterte signed the proclamation on Sept. 5, Monday.
