The isolated Filipina patient, who was one of the close contacts of Philippines’ second case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus (MERS-Cov), tested negative of having the virus, the Department of Health (DOH) disclosed July 7, afternoon.

“Negative. Puwede na rin siyang ilabas sa negative pressure room at balik na siya sa regular room (She’s negative. She actually be taken out from the negative pressure room and be placed in a regular room),” Health Spokesperson Lyndon Lee Suy said in an interview.

Suy said, however, that they will continue to monitor the patient as the 14-day incubation period is not yet over.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old foreigner confirmed to have acquired the virus is in stable condition and is still isolated at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
