Help Sought for Comatose Former Kuwait OFW
Relatives of a now-comatose former overseas Filipino worker who had a stroke while in Kuwait are asking for assistance to defray her daily medical expenses.
Kin of Luz Vinoya were forced to bring her home after they could not afford her hospital expenses, GMA Dagupan’s Alfie Tulagan reported on 24 Oras North Central Luzon.
Vinoya is now confined at her home in Barangay Turac in San Carlos City in Pangasinan. She was comatose after suffering a stroke while in Kuwait.
A private nurse would visit and check on her occasionally.
Vinoya was brought home last May 10 and was brought to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital’s intensive care unit, but had to be moved out after 10 days.
“Wala nang pambayad, napilitan ilabas,” Vinoya’s brother Jose said.
The relatives also said they need financial help to defray the cost of medicine and Vinoya’s oxygen.
They added they could not seek assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration as her contributions there ended in 2007.
People who may want to extend assistance may call Darwin Manuel at 09105279132 or GMA Dagupan at 075-522-0017.
