3 Filipino Photographers Win Big at Zoography Photo Contest

Award-winning, UAE-based Filipino photographers, Celso Creer II, Roger Alfonso and Ferdinand Bedana once again proved their excellence in the field photography, this time in the recently concluded Al Ain Zoo Photography Competition 2017 held at Al Ain.

TFT Awards 2016 Photographer of the Year, Celso Creer II took home the highest recognition in two separate categories: Wildlife and Architecture.

His two winning pieces, which were candidly shot inside the zoo took home 1 st place beating more than a hundred entries. The winners were announced at Al Ain Zoo official Facebook page on March 31, 2017.

“I am overwhelmed because this has been the second time my photographs has garnered two major awards in a row,” Creer told The Filipino Times.

Roger Alfonso, on the other hand, won second place in the Architecture category.

While Bedana, also known as Ferdz, who is also not new in winning accolades from different UAE photo competitions, won third place in the wildlife category.

Zoography is a nationwide photo competition open to both amateur and professional photographers who supports Al Ain Zoo’s commitment to wildlife conservation. Al Ain Zoo received hundreds of submissions, all of which showcased great enthusiasm.

Winners were determined via 40 % online voting and 60% from esteemed panel of judges.
